Abhayanga
अभ्यङ्गं तु कर्तव्यं सर्वदोषनिवृत्तये।
तत्र शारीरसङ्ग्रामं शान्तिं प्रददाति यः।।
Translation: “Abhyanga should be performed to alleviate all doshic imbalances. It brings peace to the body, relieves tensions, and promotes relaxation, thus restoring harmony and well-being.”

Annalepa or Njavaratheppu
অন্নলোপ বা ন্যাভারতেহেপ্পু
Njavara Theppu, also called Annalepa, is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment. It involves applying a warm paste to the body.
This paste is made from Njavara rice (a special type of rice). It also includes milk and a herbal mixture. The paste is gently massaged into the skin for 45-60 minutes. After the massage, the paste stays on the body briefly to help it absorb. Then, the person takes a warm shower.

Churna Pindo Sweda or Podi Kizhi…is an Ayurvedic treatment that involves massage with herbal powder boluses.
These boluses are typically made with a combination of various herbs, spices, and grains, chosen for their therapeutic properties. The boluses are warmed and then used to massage the body, providing heat and herbal benefits to the tissues.
This treatment is often used to reduce pain, inflammation, and stiffness, and to improve circulation.
चूर्णपिण्डस्वेदं यः कर्तुं श्रमज्वरान् हरेत्।
वातवृद्धिं शमयति स्थिरं शरीरं कुरुते।।
Translation: “Churna Pinda Sweda, when performed correctly, eliminates fatigue and fever. It pacifies the aggravated vata dosha, providing stability and strength to the body.”

पत्रपिण्डस्वेदं यः कर्तुं रोगान् शान्तयेत्।
वातपित्तश्लेष्मनाशं स्थिरं शरीरं कुरुते।।
Translation: “Patra Pinda Sweda, when performed properly, eliminates various diseases and brings tranquility. It pacifies the aggravated vata, pitta, and kapha doshas, and strengthens the body, promoting stability and health.”
Baluka Sweda or Manal Kizhi বালুকা স্বেদ বা মানাল কিঝি
Baluka Sweda, also known as Manal Kizhi, is an Ayurvedic sweating therapy. It involves applying heat to the body using a cloth bag filled with heated sand.
This treatment works well for Vata and Kapha imbalances, reducing pain, stiffness, and swelling. The sand’s heat expands blood vessels, which improves blood flow and helps remove harmful substances from the body. It is frequently used for conditions such as arthritis, spondylitis, and muscle pain.
The procedure typically lasts for 30-45 minutes. During the procedure, the warm Kizhi is gently massaged over the affected areas. This induces sweating and relaxation.
बलूकपिण्डस्वेदं यः कर्तुं रोगं निवारयेत्।
वातपित्तकफश्लेष्मपित्तं शमयति स्थिरं।।
Translation: “Baluka Pinda Sweda, when performed properly, eliminates diseases and alleviates pain. It pacifies the aggravated vata, pitta, and kapha doshas, relieves excess mucus, and strengthens the body.”
